PHITS Tutorial

PHITS (Particle and Heavy Ion Transport code System) is a general purpose Monte Carlo particle transport simulation code collaboratively developed by the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), the Research Organization for Information Science and Technology (RIST), the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK), and several additional institutes. PHITS facilitates the transport of all particle types across wide energy ranges, utilizing a variety of nuclear reaction models and nuclear data libraries. The code can be employed in research across numerous disciplines, including accelerator technology, radiotherapy, space radiation, and any other fields involving particle and heavy ion transport phenomena.

A PHITS tutorial is scheduled for July 7th and will be led by Dr. Tasuhiko Sato, a director of the PHITS development team. This educational event aims to provide attendees with the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the PHITS code and enhance their expertise in the field. Participation in the tutorial due to the limited space will be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Attendees must obtain the PHITS license prior to the course. It is free of charge, and the instructions to get the license can be found in "https://phits.jaea.go.jp/howtoget.html".
